So this morning I woke with a very full heart. Grateful to sit on my porch taking in the views that surrounded me. Reflecting on all the people who have been part of my life that I have lost in one way or another, and for those who bring me love and joy on a daily basis. So often, we forget how important it is just to sit, just to sit and be still within our own thoughts. How important it is to appreciate that our eyes opened that morning, that we get to breathe fresh air, and experience the joys of connecting with friends and family. My life has been touched by autoimmune disease, cancer, Alzheimer’s, heart disease, diabetes and so much more. I have lost so many people who played a major role in helping me become who I am today. I have friends & family currently struggling with these diseases. And It makes me think, we take so much for granted and forget to live the optimal. We have lost the idea that our body is a temple. We need to respect our bodies. We need to provide our bodies with not only nutrition-dense food but love, to give ourselves time where we are quiet, time to recognize we are lucky to be where we are in that moment. Life is not always easy, it doesn’t always feel good and at times we get too caught up in our emotions over things that we cannot control. We forget that we can control our emotions, we can control our thoughts and we can decide to find the positive in almost all situations.
This is not an easy tactic but an acquired behavior, it’s a daily practice, one in which you are conscious. Being healthy isn’t just about what we look like, it isn’t about how fast we can run or simply just the foods we eat. Truly being healthy means controlling your stress levels, getting enough sleep, moving every day, celebrating moments throughout the day and truly learning to love yourself. So whatever your struggle could be, maybe you have a health condition, maybe you’re 50 to 100 pounds overweight, maybe you’re just not sure why you’re so anxious or why you feel sad, the answer lies within each of us. We just need to dig deep, be vulnerable, be open, be real and take down the roadblocks, start looking for the answers. Maybe the answer is to find a health coach, a lifestyle coach, or a mentor. We all “need someone to lean on,” that’s what makes us human. We desire this connection, we are not meant to exist in isolation. Learn to let go of how we have been conditioned to think, conditioned to feel and do what feels good, let your inner wisdom speak to you.
